Synopsis
The protagonist of Reality is as ordinary as they come. A popular patriarch running his small fish shop with Neapolitan energy and brio, Luciano juggles work and home life with the panache of a natural-born performer. And that, indeed, is what he wants to become. Envious of those lucky few who actually "make it" and become famous, Luciano is eventually persuaded by his family to audition for the Big Brother reality television show, which propels nonentities to fifteen minutes of fame. Luciano manages to cadge an audition, travels to Cinecittà where he performs, and eagerly awaits the call that he and his excited family and friends are convinced will come and rocket him to wealth and fame. Assuring himself that his moment in the spotlight is only days away, Luciano begins to reshape his entire life around the expectation of his imminent celebrity. Is he delusional? Or are his dreams within reach?
