Directors Biography
Michael Spiccia studied design at the Western Australian School of Art and Design, where he cultivated his passion for the visual arts. Michael spent a year immersing himself in the rich setting of London’s music video and filmmaking community. Back home in Australia, he set his sights on music videos to hone his directing skills. Michael split his time between Bazmark (working alongside Baz Lurhmann and Catherine Martin as a designer) and directing high-profile video clips for bands like Evermore, Jet, The Black Ryder, Grinspoon and Bob. Yardbird is his debut short film.
