Masterclass: Niels Pagh Andersen

Just before the masterclass, on the same day and in the same place at 3pm, there will be a screening of the award winning documentary film 3 Rooms of Melancholia directed by Pirjo Honkasalo and edited by Niels Pagh Andersen.
Film will have subtitles in Croatian and English and entrance on both
events is free.
In addition to his masterclass, Niels Pagh
Andersen will also conduct his "rough cut" workshop on 18-19 October.
The workshop is intended for selected Croatian documentary film directors whose
projects are currently in post-production. During the workshop, the tutor and
the team of authors will review the material prepared and will discuss with
them the dramaturgic and editing aspects of it.
Niels Pagh Andersen's lecture and workshop are organized by Restart in
cooperation with Zagreb Film Festival and with support of Danish Embassy in
Croatia, Croatian Audiovisual Center and Office for Culture of the City of
Zagreb.
Niels Pagh Andersen is an editor who has edited more than 250 films of
various types and genres since 1979. He has worked in Scandinavia, Italy,
England, Germany, Switzerland, Brazil and U.S. Besides his editing job, he is
an editing mentor and teaches dramaturgy in schools and workshops across the
world. In 2005, Danish Film Institute presented him the prestigious Roos
Lifetime Achievement Award for his documentary work. Since 2012 he has been
teaching Editing in Norwegian Film School. His filmography includes the
Oscar-nominated feature film Pathfinder by
Nils Gaup, Portal to Peace (a short
documentary by Thomas Stenderup – the winner of Grand Prix at Krakow Film
Festival), 3 Rooms of Melancholia (a
documentary film by Pirjo Honkasale – the winner of IDFA, Mostra and CPH:DOX
awards), Prostitution Behind the Veil
(a documentary film by Nahid Persson – the winner of Grand Prix at Krakow Film
Festival and Emmy-nominee) and the famous documentary series by Jennifer Fox – Flying: Confessions of a Free Woman.
