Once again this year, the best titles from
the official selection will be decided by three three-member juries: for the
best feature and short film, for the best documentary and for the best Checkers
programme film.
The winner of the Golden Pram for best
feature and short film is to be decided by Markus Schleinzer, the director of
ZFF’s last year’s winner Michael and
also casting manager on Michael Haneke’s films; Jovan Marjanoviæ, producer and
manager of Sarajevo Film Festival Industry Department; and Maurizio Braucci,
writer of the successful Gomorrah and
Reality from this year’s The Great
Five.
Zagreb Film Festival is proud to have the
famous documentarian Michael Glawogger as a documentary jury member this year.
The audience can get more acquainted with his work through a retrospective in
the side programme. He is a travelling filmmaker. Not only does he literally
travel the world for his film, but he also travels through forms and genres,
through filming and writing, through gentler and rougher tones. His latest
works range from the adaptation of the literary work Kill Daddy Good Night (2009) and peculiar comedies Slugs (2004) and Contact High (2009), to essayist documentaries Whores’ Glory (2011) , Megacities
(2009) and Workingman’s Death
(2004).
In addition to him, the jury also includes
the Croatian director Miroslav Sikavica, whose film Cloud about Luka Ritz premiered at last year’s ZFF, and Hana
Kulhánková, the director of Prague’s international documentary film festival
One World, dedicated to human rights.
The best short film from the Checkers
programme will be decided by the jury consisting of: Christian Denier, director
and programmer of Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival; writer and director
Danilo Šerbedžija; and actress Hristina Popoviæ.
