The modern version of the famous myth of Pygmalion, the Cyprian prince who could not find the ideal woman so decided to carve her out of ivory, this film is a story about a novelist whose imaginary wife Ruby Sparks suddenly appears in his living room.
Is it a joke, a sign of madness, magic? All of a sudden Ruby is sleeping in Calvin’s bed, cooking in his kitchen and entertaining him in every possible way. One thing is confusing: he somehow has the power to change her every time he sits at his typewriter. While Calvin is playing with this power of his, he faces a dilemma as a writer and her boyfriend: what does he have to do to turn this relationship from his imagination to the real world?
This time as well the main role is played by the talented and award-winning actor Paul Dano.
Ruby Sparks embarks on an unpredictable road to fantasy, different identities and ways how we imagine love and how love invents us.
