At the occasion of the 12th Italian Language Week, the Italian Institute of Culture in Zagreb proudly invites you to the lecture entitled “For yourself and for others, Naples in Maurizio Braucci’s works”.

Writer, screenwriter and playwright Maurizio Braucci is deeply connected with Naples, the city he was born and lives in, important for his work as an artist.

Maurizio Braucci is a member of this year’s jury for ZFF’s short and feature film. His first novel, Il mare guasto, was translated into French (La mer detraquee, 2000). He has written scripst for Matteo Garrone (Gomorrah, 2008; Reality, 2012), Abel Ferrara (Napoli Napoli Napoli, 2009), Leonardo di Costanza (L’intervallo, 2012), Giuseppe Gagliardi (Tatanka, 2010) and others. Gomorrah earned him the EFA award in 20008 at the International Film Festival in Chicago and David di Donatello in 2009 for the best script. He lives in Naples, where he promotes social projects for young people from socially marginalised groups.

The lecture takes place on Friday, 19 October, 5:30pm at the Italian Institute of Culture, Preobraženska 4. Admission is free and the lecture will be held in Italian language.
